- ABOUT US
Fairview is an unincorporated community in Buncombe County located about eleven miles southeast of Asheville. Fairview has experienced substantial growth of gated mountain communities, residential developments, and luxury homes over the past decade due to its pristine natural beauty and close proximity to the city.
At 3000 feet, Fairview sits at a higher altitude than Asheville, but still lays like a valley as it is surrounded by 5000-foot summits. This gives all of the same geographical perks as its urban neighbor – outstanding panoramic vistas, a web of babbling brooks and creeks, and diverse topography for unique home designs – but with cleaner air and a rural atmosphere.
"Fairview is an ideal location if you are looking to expand – your home, your view, your family, your garden, your sense of space.
Fairview homes for sale have notably larger square footage and occupy sizable lots. While Fairview has its own recreational and essential amenities, it is only a twenty-minute drive to the outskirts of Asheville.
The ten-mile valley, with its temperate climate and fertile, rolling hills, plays a dominant agricultural role in the region’s local food movement. Most notably is Hickory Nut Gap Farm – a community-centric farmstead with grass-fed beef, pasture-raised poultry and pork, organic produce, and myriad family-oriented activities throughout the year.
(It is important to note that there is also a Fairview, NC in Union County. Make sure your moving van is headed for the hills in Buncombe.)
